3000. Meet Bell and Haru!

Woah, today is the 3,000th day since I started freelancing and making art! ✨ To celebrate, I'll dedicate this post to Bell and Haru. Let's meet them... in person~ They're hand-sized babies! I commissioned them last month to Thya, whom I commissioned Kitty

2998. New inks: Pilot Iroshizuku!

I admit it's a bit of a stretch for me to get several small bottles of ink of Pilot Iroshizuku, but I didn't regret it. Turns out, two out of the six bottles I bought were already discontinued – I didn't know about it until

This pen is so, so popular I couldn't help but to get myself two of them, both M nib. One was actually enough but I found it at such good price, it could be a back up when I'm experimenting inks. I wasn't thinking

I drew this with "Pippa and Your Phantasmal Problem" in my mind. Have you played it? 😏 Anyway, yesterday marked two year since I published Pippa VN for my Spooktober participation. I would relive the memory of working in this for the entire month, looking back it was really

summaries

Monthly Summary: September 2026

It was another very, very busy month for me with travelling and many other stuff! I was able to draw a little bit amid the chaos (positive) but it still took a huge portion of my time for non-creative stuff. I foresee this state of my life to last

2974. Cuddling with Fei 2 (watercolour painting + timelapse video)

It took me a few days of looking at my failed watercolour painting until I had the courage to do it again... And I'm glad I did! I redrew the first painting with the light table. This time, I used medium nib instead of fine, and I love

2971. Cuddling with Fei (watercolour painting + timelapse video)

I have both good and bad things to share about this. Bad things: I didn't enjoy this process quite much. It's probably the first time in many, many years where I can't honestly say "it was nice," which is sad, because I

When did this feeling of wanting to draw Hai and Fei moon-watching around September or mid-autumn festival started? I can't remember, but it feels nice. 🎑 This time, I used TWSBI ECO fine nib to do the ink lineart. In summary: while it was still working fine

This is my first try at using watercolour to paint on Fabriano watercolour paper. It's really nice! ✨ Specialised watercolour paper is awesome. Even when this brand is more on the affordable side, it's already a great improvement to what I usually used! I'm glad

It's sad that the pencil sketch is barely visible in the scanned version. 😔 But that's okay! With the power of filter layer, I can increase its colour digitally.

I want to see how this doodle look digitally, so I redrew it. The greatness of undo button, rotate, and canvas flip is truly spoiling. ^o^

2963. Sky and Yumiel's school portraits (ink lineart + marker accent + timelapse video)

The most fun part of analog drawing is always lining it. Having found the perfect paper for it gives me more fun in doing this, way more than a lot of analog doodles I did last year. Yay! ^^

A refreshing pencil sketch of Sky and Yumiel in their summer uniform! I like drawing school uniforms, but they end up being very similar with each other. I should diversify them...

2955. I've been waiting for you (ink lineart + marker accent + timelapse video)

Inking is my favourite part of analog drawing; so I rationalised buying fountain pens and inks because of this. But really – fountain pen drawing is really, really fun. Gliding pen nib is a tactile feeling no digital tools can replicate.

I drew a tiny pencil sketch of a few comic panels of Cali and Maple on one of my mini sketchbooks. Pencil drawing in Canson Graduate Manga felt so good! ✏️

summaries

Monthly summary: August 2026

It's a busy month for me, away from creating. I couldn't sit for too long to draw sadly, but it is what it is. Normally, this is around the time where I'd start working on my next year's calendar and get excited

It never came across my mind to own one. The time I took to ponder and consider was quite long: a few years probably, since I wanted to save for Steam Deck. But with how computer hardware market is nowadays, and my unstable frequency of travelling, I really don'

I just made even more homemade sketchbooks just like before! This is a perfect balance of experimenting paper to find which ones work best with my drawing tools and habit. It's also a great, fun way of finding My Favourite Paper without committing to pricey sketchbooks which feels
