2992. My travel-sized art kit
Once again, I over-prepared myself to draw during my long trips and flights but I never felt well enough to do it. My well-being is very tightly connected with my creative juice, and I'm mostly in cautious mode when I'm not at home, so I can't draw as much.
I want to change that, and so in the past few years when I travelled, I tried to compile some art tools to carry with me whenever I go. It went through several changes, less things, more things, extra loose paper, less pens, etc. So... I actually like what I compiled last month, so I want to share them here! I'm also looking into start urban sketching in various places around where I live as a break, so this is a start.
Art tools pouch
It contains all my drawing tools. I bought this quite cheap in a supermarket since I previously used my toiletries pouch to collect them all. XD

I was torn between this or something more organised, with pen slots, extra pockets and slots inside, etc. but looking back, I was never the type to be that organised. I'd rather see everything at once, and once I'm done with my tools I can just throw it inside.

It surprisingly fits my watercolour palette and a small spray bottle as well. While it ends up not being too slim, it has everything and even more so I'm happy enough with it for now.

The tools I'm using keep rotating, and I swap out fountain pens every now and then according to my mood and which kind of pen I feel like using at the time. In summary, I use:
- Fountain pens. While I have three different nibs at the moment: Kakuno (M), Kaweco (M) and Hongdian (bent), I can size-down to just one pen. In that case, I'll pick Kaweco (M) – since at the time of writing this, that pen is inked with Platinum Carbon Black.
- Mechanical pencils. I have three: all are with 2.0mm lead; black, blue, and red.
- An eraser. Nothing special about it. It's cheap and hard, but it does its job.
- A ruler. I just always seem to find a use of it, I don't know why.
- A waterbrush, size M. For my painting style, it's the only one I need.
- Sakura Koi watercolour travel pad. I tried tube paints, but this one keeps proving itself to be better. Not in quality, but in practicality. I like practical stuff. :)
- A spray bottle with filtered water. It's always useful.
Pretty sure it can be downsized even more: one pen, one pencil, an even smaller watercolour palette... But that requires some organising, and I'm not really good in that, to be honest. When it's really needed, though, my brain would summon its hidden power to organise, of course.
