3003. Twintails watercolour painting

I painted this late at night with a really warm light in my work space, so my perception of colour was very off. Even so, I liked how it turns out!

It feels quite good looking at all those brush strokes that I left alone without tidying them up. It reminded me of what I did that time: the thoughts, the pondering, the experiments – they were all precious. It reminds me of the time when I visited art museum, or exhibitions. Now that I'm painting stuff myself, I like to drill my focus onto each painting, looking at every brush stroke, trying to understand what the painters were thinking for each of those stroke.

Looking at this painting above, I unconsciously did it to the painter, which is myself. It's a very strange feeling, but I liked it. Revisiting my old drawing is something I don't do a lot because of my harsh self-judgment, but perhaps I should do it more often.

Even when this painting was made under such strange circumstances: late at night, in the middle of my commission work, super warm lighting; it became one of my favourite current watercolour painting. It boosted my confidence a lot, that I'm thinking to opening a watercolour commission... Hmm, should I?

I'll ponder about it more once I've gone through my current commissions work.
