Art Summary 2025

Art Summary 2025

Woah! It really didn't feel like a whole year has passed by. What do you mean it's almost 2026??? I can't remember much of what I've done this year 😔 *sigh*

Anyway, I made this year's art summary graphic:

I redrew myself + Kitty for fun!

If last year I mentioned about how it was the year with the least art, this year I had even less drawings... 🥲 I didn't draw many full illustration, but I enjoyed making many analog drawings! I even got more comfortable with watercolour medium, and I learnt how to use dip pen! I'm still far from good, but it was a nice experience. I want to make more analog art in addition to digital art as well. That sounds really fun!

  • January: Lunar New Year Lena
"Lunar New Year Lena" sounds really nice! I shall make it a yearly thing of drawing Lunar New Year themed art with Lena.
  • February: To: You 2025 redraw
What's the chance that this has been a yearly drawing too! I don't know if I'll have a 2026 version, I think I'm running out ideas haha...
  • March: Looking at you
A really fun doodle I did for Blooming Chimes' main characters!
  • April: Dreamy Toto
Drawn when I was greatly art blocked. >_<
  • May: Yurie-chan fanart
Also an art blocked doodle. She looks really cute here!!!
  • June: Magical Girl!
    Ink + watercolour practice piece.
  • July: Reapers on Duty doodle
I conceptualised this story around this month! This doodle helped me a lot.
  • August: Illa Café maids
A months-late illustration for #maidsday trend on Twitter. It was an excuse to draw Illa Café girls too!
  • September: Yumiel and Sky
Ink, watercolour and coloured pencil artwork! I really enjoyed making this~ Not something I would do regularly, but it was a great, refreshing piece!
  • October: Cheerful
A watercolour painting I did to test purple palette mix.
  • November: Bell and Haru winter doodle
It's not winter yet but the vibe matched! It's messy, but probably my favourite drawing of the year!
  • December: Amnea28 fanart
An art trade I did for Sei-chan! It's still WIP.

While I didn't do many fully-rendered illustration, I explored a lot of analog mediums and I had a lot of fun with them. I also love how my art evolved this year! It's not much, but I feel my own growth, at least I could see it myself haha. I mean, look at these, for example:

OMG, they are (almost) exactly three years apart: 11th November 2022 vs 12th November 2025. I am glad I started this habit of watermarking the date each time I finished a drawing. File properties aren't very reliable sometimes.

But see what I mean??? 😲☝️ What three years could do to someone, right!!! Especially when I didn't focus in improving my drawing techniques at all. I didn't draw much in-between VN development, writing, coding, and everything else. Imagine how much better it would look if I actually practised. Actually strengthening my fundamentals. Learnt better anatomy.

I, I want that 🤯 I want to see how I would evolve if I do this more seriously! I mean, I've bought quite several art books this year, I should go through them slowly. Not only admiring the content, but also learn from it!

Anyway, here are recap of past years' art summaries:

2021

Aaaand... an older one I found recently!

It is always super cool to look back and see how much my art went through changes. I really like all phases, but definitely love my current art style the most. This thought reassures me that I'm doing the right thing. It just feels so good (* ´w` *) creating – when no one told me what I can/can't do – is fun!

I hope to create more fun things next year! ✨
