Monthly Summary: July 2026

The monthly view summary looks so sad... There are less days with posts than without. ☹️

July started erratic. I was away for a while last month and it took me a while to recalibrate my routine back. There were so many unanswered e-mails when I was away and the guilt crept up, I couldn't be creative until I replied to everyone.

I think I still have a couple of e-mails with their replies in my draft even now, hopefully in the next few days I can speed it up and reply to everyone. I'm sorry about that! ;-;

Anyway! I don't know much what's up and trending nowadays since I barely logged in on Twitter recently, but the short time I did, I noticed that July is a "watercolour month", or some sort? While I didn't know about that until very recently, coincidentally I happened to do some watercolour doodles this month, as I was away from my laptop for prolonged time. Wow, I miss my laptop... I really want to go back to developing my VNs...

Some highlights:

Even when I only watched this show once, I remember liking it a lot. The concept of a little fantasy in the middle of regular slice-of-life events is very cute, and I just really like Koge-Donbo sensei's characters art. I had Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar's OSTs as my working background, and I have this little, ticklish feeling of wanting to learn some piano pieces of the OSTs... Is it too late to learn musical instruments as an adult? (p.s. I don't have any musical background at all.)

One watercolour doodle piece I did this month. It looks so warm, soft, pretty... Aaaa... My heart... <3

Dev activity is almost non-existent for my own projects, but Re:Curse is going slow and steady! I hope to pace up in August, because September will also be quite a busy month for me; not Spooktober-related this time.

I'll also draw some background art for an unannounced VN project. I'm looking into sketching them soon for feedback before working on them slowly. I wanna make background art that tells a lot of stories, hoping it can enrich the stories it's accompanying. I will drop the project name later once it has its Steam page, for now it's WIP – it's quite exciting!

July's banners have been Hai and Fei! I tried to draw more anatomically-correct cat this time. I've been wanting to learn that, and it was quite fun.

• Watching: W (I prepared myself for cringey scenes, but it was actually so good??? The fantasy was really interesting, the plot could never be predicted, and the thriller actually scared me a little bit... ⬅️ is a scaredy cat)
• Playing: a little bit of CROB and some VNs? Didn't have enough time to play more than a few minutes at a time haha...
