Monthly Summary: April 2025
So *ahem* It's been another artistically constipated month from my side. I still draw! So incredibly grateful that commissions keep coming 🙏 and I'm doing my best working on them all... But somehow, creating for myself was not the biggest interest that I had this month.
Compiling this month's calendar thumbnails made me sad... 🥲 I'm pretty sure I still doodled around... on paper, at least! My work desk is a huge mess at the moment, so I will probably need one morning to sort everything out and to scan all the doodles I made which I haven't yet. Digital backup for the win!
Art Stuff
Did I even make anything for myself? I guess not? Uwahh 😭 I'm sorry. Commissions work are still WIP so I won't show them yet.
Dev Stuff
I've been stuck on Blooming Chimes arc 2. 🥲 I can't connect two important scenes, and one particular vibe I wanted to give as the entire arc 2 theme is not vibing, and I can't solve this. I'm so sad, I really love daydreaming about this story and I keep writing little notes everywhere about what little scenes or tropes I want to write, but when I take a step back: the vibe I wanted, and the arching plot I intended for arc 2 – they're not adding up. A debugging rubber duck is probably what I need...
As I'm going through my notes about my writing, I stumbled upon this particular note I made for Illa Café – an older idea I had which made me download Ren'Py in 2021 haha. Suddenly, the spark came to me like a wave, and I absolutely had to visualise this spark! I doodled pillow figures like crazy and compiled everything on a 2-minute video with Kdenlive. Thus, the first mock/draft of Illa Café ED video was born. So crazy ahaha.

Hahahaha I dunno why but this month's doodle cover makes me laugh 💦 instead of drawing my characters, I was thinking to just draw Kitty, lazying around hahaha but pretty sure she'd not like that! "Don't make me your escape goat!" I can kind of hear that yelling voice in my head. Alright, fine. 😒 Can't think of much ideas anyway.
Looking back, April has been kind of a chill month. I wasn't really actively working on any personal projects due to the creative-constipation state I was in. Hoping to pick things up in May! The weather has been getting warmer and nicer, so I'm hoping to go out more often and enjoy the air~
