2673. Fifth fountain pen: get! HongDian M2 Bent Nib
This was an impulsive purchase as I just placed this in the shopping cart together with other unrelated things, but it surprisingly became one of my favourite fountain pen!!! The hype about HongDian fountain pens was real!!!

Package wise, it is the most modest. Plain grey box with information, barely any branding.

The tin box is plain, similar to Kaweco but Kaweco's is embossed with their logo at least. This one is fully plain. It does work as a pen case, and at least it does its job.
But the pen itself – it is mighty! It is the cheapest fountain pen among all I bought in the past year, but it feels the most sturdy and great value. It's metal, heavy, and has very sturdy build. A converter is also included, making its value even greater! All cost aside, its performance is the utmost important for me to judge whether I like this pen or not...
And it did not disappoint!
First, it glides the smoothest in my sketchbook: the sketchbook that hates all my other fountain pens. Second, its 'Bent Nib' behaves way, way better than Sailor Profit Fude Nib – it bends less, and is more wet in general. Thin lines, thick lines, they are all super smooth! ✨ It's super fun doodling with this pen!

The doodle test. It creates very fun lines with varied width. So fun!!!!!
HongDian M2 is a tiny pen, very similar to Kaweco Sport.

I like Kaweco's angular shape a little bit more, but HongDian's metal body feels so much better in my hand. Thanks to its weight, doodling around just feels better for me personally.
HongDian has become my favourite fountain pen brand now. All thanks to a Reddit user u/Odd-Mousse9773 who recommended this brand to me. Bent nib is so fun!! HongDian is truly a hidden gem!! I may probably get their M nib next, and hopefully that marks the end of my fountain pen shopping... for now hahah.
