(2408) Bought even more art books: How to Draw Manga Furries and Point Character Drawing

Today I received two more art books! They are:

  1. How to Draw Manga Furries
  2. Point Character Drawing

For Point Character Drawing: I bought this because I do a lot of doodles of character faces recently, learning about anatomies and poses. Artist TACO who I follow on Twitter posts a lot of these straightforward sketches with guides, which makes me want to buy the books! I read some pages of it and it's an interesting book: it directly tells, in simple and straightforward way, on how certain body parts, sizes, shapes, and angles look. I like the approach so much.

For How to Draw Manga Furries: purely impulsive purchase hahaha. I've never drawn kemono (beasts) before and this may give me physical guides on how things are shaped and sized. Who knows, I can expand my art skillset to drawing furries and open to draw more of them.

I will not refer to this book all the time, but definitely will do when I need inspirations. I'm slowly growing personal offline resources for drawing, since casual searching result are now mix with AI generative images in the results.

Other things I start to collect for my art resources:

  • Photographs, either from public domain sites or my own personal photographs.
  • Art books, both digital and physical.
  • Screenshots of movies, dramas, anime shows of composition that I like.

I no longer use Pinterest as moodboard, I use BeeRef instead. 🐝
